The phone companion is a browser-based client of the same relay, not a separate AI chat or a native mobile coding environment. Pair it from the portal, check the current project and session, then send text or image context.
Hi Rokid and the phone companion do different jobs
Hi Rokid is used to install the glasses application. The Rokid Claude companion is a web page for interacting with your coding session. Installing one does not automatically pair the other.
The companion can also be added to your phone’s home screen where supported by the browser. That makes it easier to reopen, but it remains a browser-based app. Claude Code still runs on your Mac; the phone does not become a replacement host.
You can use the glasses without sending phone attachments. The companion becomes useful when a precise piece of context is easier to paste, photograph or attach than describe aloud.
Pair the companion from the setup portal
- Make sure your Mac relay is online in the setup portal.
- Choose Pair a device and select Phone companion.
- Give the connection a recognizable name, then choose Create pairing code.
- Scan the displayed code with your phone camera and open the link in your browser.
- In browsers that support it, use the sharing or browser menu to add the companion to your home screen.
The phone QR differs from the glasses QR. Use the correct device type instead of attempting to scan one interchangeably. If the code was closed before you could use it, create a new pairing entry and remove unused ones.
The pairing URL contains a private device credential. Do not forward it, post a QR screenshot or use it as a shareable link to a conversation.
Send an image or paste a precise reference
Check the companion’s project and session indicator first. Then add the image or text and write the instruction that tells the agent what to do with it. A screenshot alone may not explain whether you want to match a layout, investigate an error or critique a design.

The current client stages up to four images per message. Images are converted to JPEG and resized to a maximum long edge of 1568 pixels before sending. Fine text can become harder to read, so paste the original error or code as text when exact characters matter.
If your browser cannot decode an image, try a standard JPEG or PNG export. The companion is not a general-purpose upload channel for arbitrary binary files.
Keep the context in the same conversation
The companion and glasses use the same relay session state. You should not need to copy the agent’s response from one independent AI chat to another. But a shared session also means that changing focus is a real change to the conversation you will address next.
Before submitting important context, recheck the project and session, especially after switching on another device. If the agent is already working, avoid repeatedly sending the same message while waiting for feedback. Follow the visible state, or use the glasses’ running-task menu to manage the next step.
A practical sequence is: dictate the goal, send a screenshot with a precise note, then follow the response in the glasses. Return to your Mac for a full visual or code review.
Treat the paired phone as access to your coding workflow
Protect your phone with a screen lock and use a browser profile you control. The companion is not simply a read-only dashboard: it can send instructions and handle supported permission choices. Someone with access to it may be able to interact with your agent.
If a device is lost, replaced or shared accidentally, revoke the relevant entry from the portal’s paired-device list. Pair the replacement using a new credential. Do not publish session screenshots that expose secrets, client data or a pairing code.
Session traffic passes through the cloud broker and is not end-to-end encrypted. Context sent to Claude follows your Claude configuration. Consider what an attachment contains before submitting it.
If the companion does not connect
First confirm that the Mac is awake and the relay is online. Then check the phone’s internet connection and whether its pairing entry has been revoked. A home-screen shortcut is not proof that the connection is live.
For an upload failure, check image format and the four-image limit before changing any pairing. For a message that reached the wrong project, verify the active session rather than assuming the app created a new chat. The troubleshooting guide covers these symptoms separately.
